Today’s Gleaner newspaper features a home with a difference. Nadine Hamilton is a certified scrap-metal exporter, and because her and her staff would often travel to rural areas to collect scrap metals over extended periods, she had to come up with a way to safe money on accommodation.
So she came up with the idea of a 40-foot container converted into a fully furnished home on wheels. After 10 months and J$6M later, her home onan 18-wheel trailer bed was ready. It boasts eight bunk beds, each with its own television set, a bathroom, a living room, a kitchen, is fully air-conditioned and possesses all the amenities one would expect to see in a fully furnished apartment.
