As part of ongoing rural infrastructural development efforts, the Government has reportedly given the green light for two contractors to build mega housing projects – with a combined value of $1.2 billion – in Clarendon and St. Catherine.
The contractors are YP Seaton & Associates and Build Rite Construction, and both have been endorsed by the National Contracts Committee (NCC) for contracts valued at $663.8 million and $620.3 million respectively.
YP Seaton and Build Rite will reportedly construct 250 two bedroom houses, and will also construct roadways and install water supply and storm water drainage systems. The project is being funded via the National Housing Trust (NHT). Additional details about the planned mega housing projects will be made available soon.

Portland is in need of housing solutions especially for the young working class and professionals. Will there be any solutions coming soon? It is said that the Parish has been forgotten and that is the reason so many persons never return. How can your institution assist us?
